Associate Consultant - Job Evaluation
What can you expect?
- Primary focus for the role is the delivery and project management of Job Evaluation services to public sector clients in Queensland and nationally.
- Core activities include consulting and engaging with senior stakeholders in order to understand client and role context, conducting Job Evaluations of executive and non-executive roles using Mercer's proprietary CED Job Evaluation methodology and associated methodologies including the Queensland Government Job Evaluation Management Systems (JEMS) and Northern Territory Government Job Evaluation System (JES) methodologies, communicating the evaluation outcomes and rationale to clients in a report format and verbally as required, driving and project managing the delivery of Job Evaluation requests and projects and working with and involving other team members.

We will count on you to:
- Apply your consulting skills and technical expertise in the Mercer CED Job Evaluation methodology (or JEMS or JES methodologies) and professional judgment to client requirements and projects
- Demonstrate intellectual leadership and consistently test final deliverables for completeness accuracy, and adherence to client context and requirements.
- Plan, design, resource and manage Job Evaluation related projects in executing the plan, and deliver projects on time and within budget
- Nurture key client relationships, identify opportunities to broaden or deepen these relationships in partnership with senior consultants, anticipating and responding to future client needs
- Support Business Development activities and proposals
- Develop own and other's capability through informal and formal learning opportunities
- Participate in internal projects to improve Mercer, in particular talent, quality, service delivery, internal efficiency/effectiveness and intellectual capital
What you need to have:
- Relevant undergraduate qualification is highly desirable (e.g., business, human resources, finance)
- Experience in conducting Job Evaluations of both executive and non-executive roles using the Mercer CED Job Evaluation methodology (or JEMS/JES methodologies) in a public sector context
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Solid client management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain relationships and identify new business opportunities
- Strong teaming capability in order to work collaboratively with colleagues across service areas on business development activities, client relationship management and delivery of integrated solutions
- High level conceptual skills with the ability to rapidly learn new material and apply learning in a practical context to solve client problems
- Able to operate effectively in ambiguous situations with limited supervision, to multitask and to manage the pressure of competing deadlines without becoming unduly stressed
