About the Unit

Infrastructure and Facilities Services (IFS) is responsible for the planning, development and operation of the University’s physical infrastructure and estate. This includes both operational services delivery and the management and upkeep of facilities to support the strategic objectives of the University to meet the needs of students, staff and the University community.

As the Associate Director, Campus Services, you will be a senior member of the Infrastructure and Facilities (IFS) portfolio supporting the Director IFS through leadership and management in the areas of:

• Asset management
• Campus facilities maintenance and operations services
• Environmental management
• Campus security

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership position within a complex organisation working with the team ensuring a safe, and healthy work and study environment for the University community.

In this role you will:

• Maintain strategic and operational leadership of Asset Management, Facilities Management – both hard and soft services, Sustainability and Security teams.
• Oversee contract management to deliver Campus Services to the University community.
• Manage operations and maintenance of the University’s physical facilities with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, value for money and customer service excellence.
• Oversee the development and implementation of environmental management plans and practices.
• Manage campus safety and security service and infrastructure.

This 3 Year Fixed Term position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land) with travel to the University’s campuses on the Central Coast, and Newcastle City, plus regional campuses in Tamworth, Taree, Port Macquarie and Sydney.

How will you inspire us?

The successful applicant will have:

• Expertise in the management of significant infrastructure portfolios,
• Delivery of operational services (both hard and soft services) and management of significant financial and human resources in a large, complex or public sector organisation with an understanding of key technical service deliverables.
• Proven experience leading a response team in an emergency situation.
• Excellent conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to set direction and use sound judgement to make critical decisions.
• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering asset management strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills to represent the University with external stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build effective high-performance teams.
