Reporting to the Producer, the Associate Producer is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of delegated productions across Operas with highest efficiency, minimising risk, maintaining budget, compliance, and implementing best practice operations.
This is a fixed term contract commencing April 2024 – April 2025.
Key Areas of focus
- Manage projects by communicating with stakeholders, overseeing production staff, coordinating marketing needs, and assisting with financial requirements.
- Handle audition processes, including coordinating with partners, managing logistics for staff, and maintaining records.
- Negotiate and execute contracts with artists, suppliers, and creatives within budget and compliance standards.
- Supervise the Company Management team to support production staff.
- Liaise with internal departments on production matters.
- Coordinate travel and accommodation for touring personnel.
- Assist with budgeting and financial reporting.
- Develop event management plans, including risk assessments and safety plans.
- Assist with research, budgeting, and planning for future productions.
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including co-producers, venues, and sponsors.
- Help manage schedules and project timelines for the Senior Producer.
- Coordinate post-project evaluations and reports for future improvement.
- Keep organised records of project documents, expenses, and communication.
- Help team members with tasks as needed.
- Take on additional duties within your abilities and training when necessary.

- Ensure all necessary licenses and safety certificates are acquired and kept valid and up to date
We are seeking candidates who have high level problem solving and judgement skills, as well as organised and adaptable. You will have advanced attention to detail, as well as time management.
The key selection criteria for the role are:
- 3 years’ proven experience in live theatre or project/event management.
- Demonstrated budget and contract management experience.
- Leadership and management skills with proven experience supervising staff and ability to motivate teams to ensure high performance and strong team culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a polite and professional manner.
- Empathy and passion for the artistic process and an intuitive understanding of the needs of creatives.
- High levels of computer literacy, good organisational and administrative skills with an excellent attention to detail.
- A demonstrated ability to problem solve, prioritise and meet tight deadlines, ability to multi-task, handle pressure, and deal with the unexpected.
- A flexible attitude to duties/responsibilities and working hours.
