How will I help?
This role will see you interacting directly with the Corporate Reporting and Capital, Liquidity and Market Risks business units and other Group Audit home teams. You will conduct independent reviews of control frameworks, processes, systems, policies and procedures, and deep dives across the Westpac Group and identify areas for remediation and opportunities for enhancement.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Provide insight for internal audit planning for the Corporate Reporting and Capital, Liquidity and Market Risks Portfolios. This includes calling out processes and risks to be covered. This extends from Capital, Liquidity and Funding, Market, and Financial Control process risks to operational, strategic, conduct and culture risks.
Audits:
Delivery of individual audits, including framing and communication of issues, recommendations and reports.
Determine scope for testing the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
Delivery as team leader or member on some audits outside of Corporate Reporting and Capital, Liquidity and Market Risks to promote a deeper understanding of the Westpac Group.
Collaborate within own home team and with other Group Audit subject matter experts in credit and market risks modelling / valuations, technology, data analytics, risk and compliance.
Expectation that data analytics are used to create and support insights.
Find insights from the Audits and Reviews that can provide assistance to the Corporate Reporting and Capital, Liquidity and Market Risks functions and divisional management on better practices or emerging risks.
Look for themes that could be reported to the BAC.
Coordination of Group Audit Issue follow-up of Corporate Reporting and Capital, Liquidity and Market Risks issues.
Participate in Group Audit Strategic Priorities and home team continuous improvement initiatives.

What do I need?
We are looking for someone who ideally has the following knowledge and experience:
Undergraduate degree. Degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics or equivalent field is desirable.
Experience in external and or internal audit (i.e. Big 4), or Risk, Corporate Reporting , Capital, Liquidity and Market Risks roles.
Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) or Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) or Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is desirable.
Experience in financial services is required.
Prior knowledge and experience in capital markets, financial instruments and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) accounting (i.e. IFRS9) standards are highly desirable.
Some analytical skills and data analysis and or interrogation experience are desirable.
Strong communication & relationship skills.
