Job description
To successfully undertake this role, you will provide advice and support to the Manager, and collaborate with a dynamic team of auditors to achieve positive outcomes for liquor and gaming stakeholders through auditing, enforcement, and educational activities.Your contribution will include: 1. Monitoring industry compliance with relevant legislation, controls and procedures.2. Ensuring adequate regulation of liquor and gambling activities and that delivery is in the best interest of the community.
Your key responsibilities:
1. Planning, coordinating and conducting audits pertaining to liquor and gaming organisations and stakeholders.
2. Preparing written reports that provide an appreciation and understanding of the subject matter and findings, together with an opinion on the results and recommendations made.
3. Providing advice and interpreting legislation, policy, procedures, and guidelines to contribute to audit effectiveness.
4. Utilising research and analytical skills to identify key risks and the effectiveness of associated controls relevant to major liquor and gaming operations.
5. Engaging with stakeholders of the liquor and gaming industries, and other business areas to develop effective working relationships.
6. Contributing to the development and continual improvement of processes and techniques in auditing.
While not mandatory it is considered desirable to possess qualifications in auditing, accounting, or related disciplines and/or equivalent work-related experience.
This position may require you to travel throughout the state and interstate and to work outside the spread of ordinary hours.
