The Gippsland Institute of Technology is currently seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic Automotive Trainer/Assessor to join our team and deliver automotive courses at our Pakenham campus in Victoria on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and experience in delivering quality training to students in the automotive industry. They will be responsible for providing engaging and informative classroom and practical training sessions, developing course materials, assessing student performance, and providing feedback to students to enhance their learning.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality classroom and practical training sessions in accordance with the Automotive Training Package.
- Developing and updating course materials, including training plans, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.
- Regular audits of workshop resources, completing monthly PPE resource orders and ensuring all workshop equipment is maintained.
- Comply with our policies and procedures for training and assessment.
- Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessment results.
- Participating in the continuous improvement of course delivery and assessment strategies.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or equivalent
- AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology or equivalent
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to delivering quality training and assessment services to students.
