Bar Manager

The Goose is on the hunt for a talented Bar Manager. The Goose has been an icon of dining for locals and visitors in Busselton for 20 years, placed right at the foot of the famous Busselton Jetty with uninterrupted views of Geographe Bay, The Goose is truly a unique hospitality venue.

A catastrophic fire in 2021 saw the restaurant destroyed, it has been rebuilt and we reopened in July 2023, the restaurant has focused on a smart casual menu catering to the modern Australian diner showcasing local food and beverage in the beautiful new building. 

We are searching for a Bar Manager to fit into the existing front of house structure, bring a creative energy and a calm leadership. The Goose prides itself on hard work with a healthy lifestyle balance, we aim to operate an enjoyable workplace with the values of mutual respect & integrity.

You will help the Restaurant Manager take the front of house team and beverage menu into its next phase, building on the existing systems and processes, promoting a calm & measured workplace with a focus on quality product and exceptional service. 

Bar Managers Role:

• Oversee all aspects of the bar service, working with duty managers to deliver an exceptional experience for the customer in the restaurant and bar.
• Provide support and guidance for the bar staff.
• Work with the Roster co-ordinator to deliver wage cost percentage.
• Develop processes and procedures for operational efficiency, health & hygiene in the bar section.
• Ensure the restaurant meets compliance for liquor licensing requirements.
• Work on service procedures to optimize the customer experience.
• Mentor and encourage staff to learn all aspects of the service.
• Actively participate in the daily service of the bar.
• Be a creative force, take control of the beverage menu, original cocktails, local wine and craft beer.
• Collaborate with local breweries to develop unique options for the restaurant.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience as a Bar Manager or similar.
• Recent experience in a modern fast paced establishment.
• In depth knowledge of bar process and procedure.
• Strong people management skills with an eye for creativity and style.
• Calm and professional manner.
