Undergone a complete transformation, the iconic Rydges Melbourne is reopened in April 2023 and is on the hunt for Food & Beverage Supervisor just as sharp as its brand-new look.
This is our flagship in the making; this is Rydges, reimagined. With a complete refurbishment of all 370 rooms, suites and apartments, nine events spaces, terrace overlooking Her Majesty's Theatre, interactive fitness centre and rooftop pool and a signature restaurant. The new Rydges Melbourne will offer unforgettable hospitality.
About the role
Rydges Melbourne will unveil a new restaurant and bar, that will hero local seasonal produce and excite the senses. Reporting into the Director of Food & Beverage and working alongside our award winning Executive Head Chef, we are after a hands-on Bar Supervisors standouts who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Bossley Bar... Is your mind racing yet?
Key responsibilities;
- Ensure optimum performance in day-to-day operations, specific duties and special projects as assigned
- Lead by example in providing excellent customer service in a warm and friendly manner, and showing pride in the Rydges brand
- Conduct “on the job” training sessions for Front of House staff and Implement SOP’s, opening and closing procedures and checklists as required for service, ensuring standards are maintained at all times
- Monitor the floor and be of assistance in supervision and operation
- Monitor service personnel’s appearance and grooming
- Effective shift planning to ensure all regular services and events are adequately covered, with sufficient notice given to staff
- Ensure good management of beverage and consumable stock levels – rotate stock ensuring used by dates are noted and dealt with in a timely manner to source alternatives.
- Be aware of and adhere to all procedures including security, fire and the Workplace Health and Safety Act
- Be familiar with and observe all house rules and policies as set out in the Employee Handbook.
- Continually work on improving staff’s product knowledge and upselling skills.

Skills & experience
- Food and Beverage team leader/ supervisor with a proven track record. But if you are passionate food and beverage professional that is keen on their first management role, we want to hear from you as well!
- Passion for the hospitality industry, demonstrated with sound product knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with guests and stakeholders at all levels
- Immaculate grooming standards and personal presentation
- Available and willing to work weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shifts
- Posses a valid RSA certificate
