The Role

Are you a barista living on the Northern Beaches looking to progress your career, develop your coffee skills and knowledge in a coffee roasting company? 

We currently have an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic barista that loves coffee and people to join our team in the iconic Danes Drive-in Coffee Van, espresso bar to help grow and build at our Brookvale roastery.

The role is part-time initially with a minimum 25 hours per week, with the scope for the right person to grow within the business into a full-time position.

Drive-in/espresso bar opening hours are 6.30 am to 2:00 pm Monday to Friday and sharing Saturdays 8:00 am to 1pm.

Responsibilities

Working with our team to continue to build and drive the day-to-day operations of our on-site specialty coffee drive-in and retail experience. Your focus will be the delivery of the highest standards of coffee and outstanding customer service.

You will receive in-depth training to develop and hone your palette, coffee skills, and the opportunity to collaborate and learn with the roasting and coffee professionals in our team and share some of the best coffee origins in Australia with our drive-in customers.

The key responsibilities are 

• Deliver and maintain the highest standards of coffee and customer service 
• Support the manager in day-to-day operations of the cafe
• Contribute to delivering our food menu of gourmet sandwiches and light snacks
• Communicate and collaborate with the roasting, marketing, and management team to deliver the highest quality service
• Contribute to the development and implementation of business plans
• Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed
• Ensure the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and tidiness.

Attributes

Key attributes for the role include

• Detailed, hands-on experience with specialty coffee, machines and equipment
• Strong and friendly customer service attitude with the ability to develop engagement and trust with each individual customer
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and develop a growing coffee clientele, to work alone and within a team
• Experience preparing/delivering a small food menu
• Willingness to engage, an eagerness to learn and challenge yourself.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate preferred
