About the Role
As a BBSW Desk Risk Manager in our Markets Desk Risk Management Team, you’ll play a key role in helping to support the ongoing effectiveness and sustainability of the BBSW control environment. The role is responsible for ensuring that the risks identified under the BBSW Program are managed in line with industry/regulatory expectation around front office supervision and conduct risk.

What will your day look like?
As a BSW Desk Risk Manager, you will:
- work with the Heads Money Markets AU in managing operational risk and compliance and ensuring good governance for Money Markets and its participation with the daily BBSW Rate Reset. This is through application of group wide, Markets and BBSW specific policies and frameworks, regulation and industry standards to remain compliant
- deliver activities within the required timeframes and budget
- ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place to manage operational risk and compliance obligations of BBSW in scope desks
- work collaboratively with the Desk Risk Management Team, Markets Compliance and Market Risk to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures across Markets
- improve governance as evidenced in effective risk forums/meetings, where risk owners and control operators can demonstrate active involvement in identifying and highlighting trending risk issues and how they should be managed and addressed
- contribute, update, and manage Non-Financial Risk events in NFR Hub to ensure that they are timely recorded, accurate and complete
- leadership of self and collaboration with other team members as part of a highly skilled and engaged Desk Risk Management team that is a high functioning and compliance capable
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Strong experience and knowledge of the Financial Markets and the environment that ANZ Markets operates in with demonstrated understanding of products, sales and trading, particularly within coverage of the role
- Strong experience and knowledge of governance, compliance, regulation & Operational risk management
- Demonstrated ANZ leadership competencies including ability to manage and delivering change, deliver results, exercise sound judgement, broaden perspective, build relationships (internal & external), develop self and others and lead and empower
- A can-do attitude and willingness to ‘roll up your sleeves’ with the team to get delivery across the line in a fast-paced environment
- With a Bachelor's degree
