The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to be responsible for ensuring Council procurement, purchasing, contracts, and finance operations adhere to established policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and standards. Overseeing the implementation of compliance programs and Reporting activities, monitoring effectiveness, and recommending improvements to ensure Council's mission of serving the Bega Valley Shire community with integrity, transparency, and efficiency.
As a Procurement and Compliance Reporting Officer, you will manage all reporting activities across the procurement, tendering, contracts, and finance as well as collect, analyse, and present data in a clear and concise manner to facilitate decision-making and strategic planning. You will implement and facilitate continuous improvement activities for internal and external stakeholders.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a Certificate IV qualification (or higher) in purchasing, procurement, tendering, contracts, or similar related qualification, or willing to work towards, and has a minimum of three (3) years' experience in compliance, audit, or reporting role, ideally within a procurement, purchasing or related field.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- In-depth understanding of public sector governance, legislative compliance, and procurement policies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure adherence within the Procurement and Contracts team.
- Proficiency in data analysis and Reporting tools, as well as standard computer software applications including Microsoft suite and financial management systems.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex compliance requirements in a clear and understandable manner.
- Proven ability to develop and implement compliance monitoring programs and reports, and to identify and address any areas of non-compliance providing insights and recommendations as needed.
Benefits
This is a fixed term full time position working 35 hours per week for 2.5 years.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $84,731.97 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1,461.40 per week base salary
- $168.06 per week superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)
