THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time Trainee Compliance Officer in our Sydney CBD office approx. 3 days per week on a permanent basis. This substantive role would suit a 2nd or 3rd year university student or recent graduate studying law, business, finance, or a related field.
This entry-level position is designed to provide hands-on experience and training in regulatory compliance, helping to ensure we adhere to internal policies and external legal standards. The Trainee Compliance Officer will support the compliance team in various tasks, gaining valuable knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in compliance. Key responsibilities will be:
- Regulatory Research: Assist in researching and staying up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that impact the company's operations.
- Policy Development: Aid in the development, implementation, and review of compliance policies and procedures to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.
- Reporting: Assist in preparing and maintaining compliance reports, records, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will possess:
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex regulations and assess their impact.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to identify potential compliance issues and ensure all documentation is accurate.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Undertaking a BA: completed or currently undertaking a BA in finance, accounting, business administration, law, or a related field.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the banking and finance sector, with a thorough understanding of financial products, services, and market practices.
- Compliance Experience: Prior experience in a compliance role or a related area, such as audit, risk management, or legal departments.
