AddressCarers NSW is the peak non-government organisation for carers in NSW, part of the National Carer Network and a member of Carers Australia. The organisation has an exclusive focus on supporting and advocating for all carers regardless of their age, location, life-stage or circumstances. This includes those caring for family members and/or friends who may be living with disability, mental illness, health related and/or chronic conditions, drug and alcohol related issues, and those who may be frail due to ageing.
Carers NSW is a not-for-profit registered charity and company limited by guarantee. The organisation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors in accordance with the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012 (Cth). The Board oversees the activities of Carers NSW and draws on the expertise and insights of Directors to achieve its strategic priorities.
Carers NSW is seeking applications from individuals who have a commitment to excellence and a desire to contribute to effective governance. Successful applicants will bring alignment with the purpose of the organisation and have capacity to devote time and energy to the position of a Board Director.
