Our award-winning Boarding House is currently inviting applications for the role of:
Boarding House Assistant
The Boarding Assistant supports the Head of Boarding, Deputy Head of Boarding, Pastoral Care Coordinator and Boarding House Supervisors in ensuring the effective daily operation of the Boarding House, including appropriate supervision of boarding students. This role has a strong pastoral care focus as the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the boarders in an assigned year level with their day to day needs whilst they are residing away from home.
Rosters are across 7 days per week during school term time and typically include:
- 6.30am – 8.30am – Monday – Friday
- Afternoon/evening shifts from 3pm (some require sleepovers)
- Weekend work both during the day and evenings
The successful candidate
To ensure your success in this role you will enjoy contributing to creating a home away from home for our boarders and be able to demonstrate:
- Experience working with children and teenagers
- An ability to quickly rapport with others including boarders, parents and other staff
- A strong work ethic to commit to a range of shifts across 7 days per week during school term time
- The ability to ensure relevant boarding rules and procedures are consistently maintained
- Current study in education, health science or similar would be highly regarded but is not essential
