About the role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-time Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of accounting and bookkeeping, with proficiency in reconciliations, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
Required hours per month is 10-15 from our offices, with potential for extra hours at the end of each quarter and end of year.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Manage Accounts Payable processes
- Post month-end journals into Xero accounting software
- Handle intercompany transactions and reconcile accounts
- Assist in preparing month-end reports and financial statements
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries to accurately reflect business transactions
- Generate financial reports and statements for review by management
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
- Provide support for audits and other financial assessments as needed
- Prepare BAS and EOFY Reporting
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices including intercompany transfers
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and coding transactions
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong background in accounting/bookkeeping principles
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable procedures
