Bookkeeper - Part Time

Specsavers is the fastest growing optical retail group in Australia. We are passionate about providing quality eye and hearing care at the best value to our customers. Specsavers Busselton is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper on a permanent part-time basis for an immediate start.

Reporting to the partners, you will be responsible for end-to-end bookkeeping for 2 busy stores, plus providing assistance to the partners with administration and human resources tasks as needed. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Accounts payables & receivables
• Bank reconciliations
• End to end Payroll for over 20 staff (weekly)
• Preparation and lodgement of BAS, PAYG, Superannuation & Payroll Tax
• Preparation of end of month financial reports for the partners
• Administration duties as required
• Human Resource duties as required

Essential Criteria:

1. Minimum of a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping / Accounting with experience in a similar role with a demonstrated knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
2. Minimum of 1+ years’ experience processing payroll and the ability to interpret awards and employment laws
3. Sound understanding of financial reporting requirements and standards
4. High level of IT Literacy with Advanced knowledge of working with MYOB Account Right and strong skills in Excel and other MS Office programs
5. Process driven with strong attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational and time management skills
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with great communication skills (both verbally and written)
7. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
8. Previous use of Deputy for rostering (preferred but not essential) and experience in rostering a team of 20+ staff across 2 locations (highly desirable).
