We are a leading structural steel fabrication company located in WANGARA WA and looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our Account team. You will be managing all financial transactions, preparing payroll, financial statements and Reports. You will work with our account team to ensure the smooth functioning of our finance operations.
The successful candidate must have at least 8 years of experience in Bookkeeping or Accounting, preferably in a medium to large enterprise environment. They must also have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
This Position can be available as Full Time, Part Time for the right candidate. Please note your preferred employment type and your availability on the application.
You will be responsible for
- Full Bookkeeping function - EOM, BAS, Management Reporting, Balance sheet reconciliations, STP, Superannuation, Payroll Tax,
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, purchase orders, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank statements.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies or errors within MYOB/ Myob Advance.
- Process and record financial transactions, including journal entries and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare and process fortnightly payroll for wages and salaried staff.
- Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements for audits and tax filings.
- Provide guidance and support to other account and admin staff.
- Work along with our accountant to produce yearly / quarterly financials.
- Improve efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes.
- Provide strong financial insights and provide support for decision-making.
- Support HR Department as needed.
- General admin duties as needed- data entry, maintaining accurate employee HR records etc
Essential skills and qualifications:
- minimum 8 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software MYOB Account Right and Intermediate Microsoft Excel as a minimum.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
- Degree in accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping or a related field (Certificate IV in bookkeeping as a minimum)
