We are looking for a Bookkeeping & Accounting Client Manager with at least 10 years of experience in management accounting, bookkeeping for clients or a similar role. This is a permanent full-time role with an attractive salary of $80,000 to $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage client relationships, answer more complex queries and provide advice on compliance via phone and email and sometimes in person
- Deal with technically challenging accounting transactions or software features, usually via escalation from the Senior Production Manager
- Review the work of a team of up to five staff with the support of the Senior Client Manager and Senior Production Manager
- Guide clients to develop practices conducive to the output of efficient and accurate bookkeeping services
- Work with the Senior Production Manager to streamline client bookkeeping workflows to enable the delegation of as much work as possible to the lowest-cost staff members
- Communicate with tax agents about clients, including year-end adjustments and the tax treatment of transactions that may require their input
- Contact the ATO to make changes, enquiries or payment plans for clients
- Attend client and tax agent locations throughout Melbourne on occasion for meetings
- Manage invoicing for your assigned clients
- Learn to sell bookkeeping services to prospects
- Stay up to date with software updates, best practice bookkeeping, changes in the industry and BAS agent compliance
- Ensure that compliance obligations of clients and the practice are met
- Participate in weekly production meetings
The ideal candidate will have experience and skills as follows:
- An accounting qualification is highly desirable
- Minimum 10 years bookkeeping to trial balance
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Leadership, project management, problem-solving and sales skills
- Ability to juggle competing demands and correctly prioritise the right tasks
- Ability to streamline processes and find efficient processing workflows
- Current driver's license and a reliable car
- Experience using Xero, Dext Prepare (formerly Receipt Bank) and Google Workspace
- Ability to troubleshoot technology issues
