Job Description:
Our core business focuses on Pool Renovations, with a significant component involving the precise and aesthetic application of tiles. As a Pool Tiler, you will be responsible for laying tiles that not only enhance the beauty of the pools but also provide durable and water-resistant surfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine plans, measure, and mark surfaces for tile layout.
- Prepare wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, and adhesive; filling holes and cracks; and cleaning surfaces.
- Create necessary slopes and surfaces to accommodate drainage.
- Spread adhesive onto prepared surfaces and set tiles in position.
- Use tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles for edges, corners, and around fittings and pipes.
- Ensure tiles are correctly aligned and spaced.
- Apply grout, clean, and remove excess grout.
- Apply waterproofing systems.
- Lay ceramic, porcelain, and mosaic tiles in patterns to create visually appealing finishes.
- Utilize techniques specific to swimming pool tiling, ensuring tiles adhere properly under wet conditions.
- Work with a variety of tile materials including glass mosaics and specialty pool tiles.
- Ensure proper sealing and finishing of tiles to prevent water ingress.
- Conduct surface leveling and ensure even application of mortar or adhesives.
- Inspect and repair any tile damages or defects in pool areas.
- Apply rendering techniques to prepare surfaces for tiling, ensuring a smooth and durable base.
- Mix and apply various rendering materials, including cement and lime-based renders.
- Ensure rendered surfaces are level and smooth before tile application.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience in tiling, particularly in pools or similar settings.
- Availability to work weekends and travel as required.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Proficiency in using tile cutting and shaping tools.
- Knowledge of different tile materials and their properties in pool settings.
- Strong understanding of waterproofing and sealing techniques.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and plans specific to pool construction and renovation.
- Experience with rendering techniques and materials.
Job Benefits:
- Annual salary of $70,000-$80,000, including 4 weeks of annual leave.
- Fully maintained company vehicle provided.
- All necessary tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) supplied.
- Superannuation payments made in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992.
Schedule:
- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 5 pm.
- Flexibility required for weekend work and travel.
