The Brand Manager understands the mindsets and capturing the imaginations of our consumers. They play a key role in driving the category from a marketing perspective, and build strong relationships across the business, as well as externally. They create marketing strategies and drive operational delivery with inclusive communications & advertising campaigns, and consumer insights activity with focuses on our customers whether they are internal or external to the company. They believe every interaction is an opportunity to build positive brand associations and deliver initiatives that meet or exceed the agreed objectives in line with the AMES growth strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Creative this generalist role is responsible for a portfolio of 2 household name brands within Pets and Home/DIY Products.

You will be:

• Working with marketing and cross-functional teams to develop and execute Marketing strategies across the relevant brands for AMES that deliver the company’s vision and strategy
• Establish a deep understanding of the market for the relevant brands and categories for your brands
• Develop and implement marketing strategies and tactical plans to meet category and company targets
• Monitor and report on results for implemented strategies
• Develop professional relationships with all customers, external and internal
• Keep up to date with latest AMES product news and increase knowledge internally
• Is an active team member, performing their duties optimally, ensuring the company delivers the highest level of customer service possible and aligns with AMES values and policies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing (or equivalent recognised in Australia)
• Previous experience in the marketing space (3+ years)
• Demonstrated experience in a marketing role commensurate with the seniority of the position and the size and complexity of the brand portfolio to be managed
• Commercial acumen and awareness
• Experience with Marketing Analytics and consumer insights
• Experience leading cross-functional projects
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
• Able to collaborate effectively across functional (Internal/External) teams and at all levels of an organisation
• Good influencing and negotiation skills
• Sound decision maker (especially around customer insights)
