About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Marketing Manager to join our team to manage our Outdoor & Recreation brands – Coleman & Esky.
The Product Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the development of new products, and improving existing ones, within our camping equipment & cooler range. They will also play a lead role in marketing activity, ranging from asset development to brand campaign planning. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, market insight and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy: Develop and implement product development strategies aligned with company objectives, market trends and customer needs
- New Product Development: Lead the end-to-end process of new product development, from ideation to commercialization. This includes conducting research, identifying opportunities, localizing global SKUs or conceptualizing regional product ideas, prototyping, testing and refining with support from our Asia Pac sourcing team, and developing product pricing
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including global sourcing, global Brand, planning, sales, marketing and customer service to ensure seamless product development and successful product launches
- Cost Management: Drive cost-effective product development initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards and maximizing profitability.
- Supplier Management: Work closely with APAC Sourcing team to source regional specific innovation from offshore suppliers
- Asset Development: Work with external partners to develop marketing assets including product photography, video, packaging design and social media assets
- Market Analysis: Work with Category Management and Customer Strategy & Planning, conducting market analysis and competitor research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and opportunities for innovation
- Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the range product lifecycle, including product updates, enhancements, and discontinuations, to optimize product portfolio performance
- Project Management: Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely and successful execution of product development initiatives
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in product design, marketing or related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in product development, preferably in the outdoor industry or related field
- Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end product development projects from conception to launch
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners
- Passion for outdoor recreation and a deep understanding of camping gear and equipment.
