About the Role
In this role, you will be conducting thorough inspections of residential properties, evaluate any damage uncovered, and prepare detailed reports for residential building insurance claims. This role may require you to travel intra and interstate, especially during natural disasters.
In addition, you will schedule, and coordinate repair works with tradespeople, whilst liaising with multiple stakeholders on the progression of each claim. You will, have experience in the building industry, scheduling property works or managing home building claims, coupled with exceptional communication skills, and are passionate about client satisfaction.
As a part of the team, you will work closely with the clients and contractors. An integral part of the project, you will be responsible for the project administration and delivery.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Conduct on site or desktop assessments and create residential building estimates for insurers for domestic insured properties arising from the likes of weather events, flood, fire, malicious damage, impact and escape of liquid.
- Scope from photos and videos, estimating the cost of repairs and report writing, create and submit client reports, claim findings and any pre-existing damage, builders faults and/or maintenance issues.
- Quantifying the repairs and determining the best method of repair.
- Determining liability on behalf of insurers as authorised.
- Accurately identify and detail building construction materials.
- Identify any areas of non-compliance to Australia Standards.
- Engage with specialist trades to report on the cause of damage.
- General administration duties such as answering phone calls, emails and assisting with client queries.
- Coordinate maintenance workflows for our clients.
- Source quotes and process invoices.
- Prepare and send work orders to trades and suppliers.
- Prepare, raise and obtain client authorisation of variations.
- Maintain the accuracy and input of project specifications.
- Provide support to other team members as required.
- On-site supervision as required as well as ad hoc quality inspections.
Essential Capabilities & Behaviours
- Assessing damage to properties, collating reports including photos and scope of works and costings.
- Coordination and managing repair work projects from commencement to completion, including regular customer contact.
- Engage, coordinate & manage trades.
- Ensure all work conforms to legislative & contractual OH&S requirements.
- Dispute & issue resolution, as required.
