Cowra is located within beautiful Central NSW on the banks of the Lachlan River. It is approximately one hour from the regional hubs of Bathurst and Orange, two hours from Canberra and four hours from Sydney. An exciting opportunity has become available within Council for an experienced Building Maintenance Tradesperson to join the Parks & Gardens Department. The position is primarily responsible for undertaking construction, maintenance, repairs and inspection of Council owned buildings, facilities and amenities. The position carries out a large amount of vandalism repairs to Council owned infrastructure. 

The ideal candidate will be someone who is an all rounder when it comes to welding/carpentry/building work. Applicants with a trade qualified background in welding/fabrication/carpentry/building are preferred however applicants with industry experience and qualifications in a related field will be considered. Applicants must hold a current class C drivers licence and general construction induction card (white card). The successful applicant will have a positive, can do work attitude with the ability to work autonomously within a small team environment and demonstrate the ability to take initiative on daily tasks. 

• $1,266.00pw plus 11% Superannuation
• 38 Hour week with RDO every fortnight (7am to 4pm and during summer 6:30am to 3:30pm)
• Employment conditions are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
