The Opportunity
Our Business Advisory division are seeking a Practice Manager with previous management experience in a similar role to join us on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Business Advisory Head, this role will provide support and contribution to the Business Advisory Directors to achieve the strategic outcomes of the division.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Communication across and within division around policy changes, procedure changes, and project outcomes
- Be the point of contact for Business Advisory Division queries of a technical or people nature
- Provide support to Business Advisory Head
- Provide support to managers in relation to people matters including but not limited to:
- involvement in recruiting new staff
- advocating for the advancement of Business Advisory staff (i.e. identifying training needs, client opportunities, skills, interests, experience, team changes, promotions, performance)
- Oversee staff training needs
- Chair manager meetings and actively participate in a variety of meetings (such as continuous improvement committee, special purpose committee meetings) and minute taking as required
- Coordinate software champions for the division and build relationships with key software providers
- Oversight of compliance obligations such as keeping up to date with ATO updates, including review ATO news, attend forums and conduct regular training and awareness sessions for any compliance activity that is relevant
- Monitor progress of client income tax lodgements throughout the year
- Oversee access to online service for agents for the firm
- Coordinate client transfers within the division
- Preparation, analysis and commentary of regular reporting for the division and firm
About You
- Professional services industry experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a similar discipline (desirable)
- Previous management experience in a similar role
- Comfortable presenting in small or large meetings, either as part of introducing new procedures and software or updates and refreshers.
- Maintains technical knowledge and keep up to date with legislative changes and practices
- Ability to conduct research and provide detailed and precise information
- Develops recommendations for improvements
- Be a problem solver, with exceptional attention to detail to produce high quality work
- Display a high-level of professionalism, enthusiasm and conscientiousness
- Be a team player and ability to form relationships with key stakeholders
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
