Working closely with the other Accountants on a Business Services Team you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely accounts and financial reporting services to a range of SME clients in various industries.
As a completely cloud-based firm, our client is part of a new generation of tech-smart, cloud-savvy business advisors. This role will see you go beyond just numbers, ensuring clients receive proactive support and advice in relation to the management of their bookkeeping, and financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including overseeing bookkeeping processes and providing support and assistance as required
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports including Balance Sheet reconciliations and posting journals
- Prepare cashflow reports and assist clients with cashflow management, paying bills and managing credit control
- Prepare Instalment/BAS’s and liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients
- Prepare Month end and EOFY reconciliations and reports including payroll reconciliations and returns, working papers and adjusting journals
- Liaise with external Auditors and Tax Accountants providing information and answering queries as needed
- Assist with the on-boarding of new clients into the team including setting up new Xero systems, chart of accounts, and provide system support and training to our clients and team as required.

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an assistant accountant or similar role with a degree in Accounting and CA/CPA (or studying towards)
- Advanced knowledge of Xero and Dext accounting systems will be highly regarded
- Experience working on multiple business entities and/or within a client service environment would be advantageous.
- Sound understanding of Accounting Practices and Standards
- Exemplary organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail
- You are a natural problem solver that’s driven by process improvement and efficiency
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong attitude toward client service and exceeding expectations
