The Role & The Team
Part of our Strategy Implementation & Change team, the Business Analyst position supports the Project Delivery, Technology and Senior Business leaders in general, to recommend, define and implement business solutions to improve Adica's day-to-day operations and achieve our strategic goals.
This opportunity will see you:
- Analysing data, processes, and information with ability to clearly articulate findings to the business to assist with decision making.
- Facilitating workshops and conducting interviews to establish an understanding of business issues, needs and expectations.
- Providing guidance with gained business and system expertise to develop and recommend solutions.
- Identifying, gathering, and documenting business requirements and solutions through consultation with the business, formal analysis, and assessment of needs
- Translating requirements into technical specifications using a language that is understood by both the Technology department and the business.
- Setting out clear acceptance criteria to help develop test plans and cases to assist in the validation of developed solutions.
- Preparing material and supporting training to end users as part of the implementation process as well as post implementation support.
- Monitoring and communicating progress of assigned change requests to manage expectations and create transparency to all stakeholders so that they can assess and plan accordingly.
- Project work as required.
Your Skills & Experience
- An understanding of general insurance (preferably with experience) including knowledge of standards and other relevant laws and legislation that apply to the industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a Business Analyst with managers, employees and other stakeholders to enable organisational change.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (particularly written) with a pro-active approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Proven understanding of business analysis tools and techniques to be able to elicit requirements and support the needs of the business with well thought out solutions.
- Demonstrated capacity to act independently within established guidelines, using discretion and sound judgement.
- Ability to apply holistic, critical thinking to facilitate and negotiate change raised by the business.
- Experience working with systems and/or data, and the ability to quickly learn and understand how to work with new systems.
- A Tertiary qualification, IIBA certification (or similar) or equivalent experience in the analysis and management of business change initiatives.
- Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerBI) – Intermediate.
- Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) or similar.
- Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst, managing a range of business change initiatives.
- An understanding and ability to apply an array of business analysis tools and techniques.
- Technology literacy and the ability to adapt and learn new systems easily.
- Strong understanding of the system development lifecycle.
