The Role
As the Business Developer- You will head the Renewables business for BESS, onshore wind farms, and hydrogen projects- You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the opportunities predominantly in the VIC, NSW markets, from identification through to project commencement and delivery. You will be part of a team that coordinates resources across all our market sectors and will work closely with the heads of the other businesses as well as positioning Delta Group as a major market player in the renewables space.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and promote business development in the East Coast region
• Undertake all facets of bid development and management to help prepare tenders for potential work.
• Engage with potential clients and industry events.
• Establish new projects, including sourcing documentation, liaising with compliance officers, setting up site safely, planning the work with the Project Engineer/ Manager, Construction Manager, and crew leaders. Identify major risks and identify long lead items.
• Ensure subcontractors and suppliers are engaged properly and that any procurement is done with Commercial Manager’s full knowledge. 
• Attend all Project Financial Reviews on a monthly or as needs basis to ensure projects are being run to budget.
• Accomplish Construction project results by participating in the estimating and execution of projects.
• Enhances organisation reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Provide assistance to Operations team in the day to day running of the business.
• Identify risks early and inform Operations team as soon as you become aware of them.
• Attend pricing reviews for all tenders.
• Provide leadership in all areas of safety, quality and environmental core values of the business.

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering 
• 5 – 10 years of experience in BESS projects as well as onshore wind farms, hydrogen or Solar, with a focus on business development.
• In-depth knowledge of BESS project development, regulations, and market dynamics- Experience abroad is advantageous.
• Background in Project Management/ Estimating
• Proven track record of successfully identifying and securing new business opportunities.
• Willingness to travel for work-related activities.
