Job description

FLENDER offers a broad variety of gear units, couplings, generators and associated services, with a focus on key industries such as wind power, cement, mining, oil & gas, power generation, water and wastewater, marine, conveyor and crane technology. 

Our brand WINERGY is synonymous within the Wind industry, with our gearboxes, generators and couplings installed in around 1/3 of all wind turbines.

We are seeking an experienced BDM/Account Manager to build and foster relationships with our Wind energy clients. 

This is a key role located in Melbourne reporting to the Head of Wind Service APAC, responsible for a range of clients across the Wind industry. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the goals and challenges of wind OEM, asset owners or wind farm operators and able to translate their business needs into technical and commercial solutions. 

The goal is to contribute to sustaining and growing of our business to achieve long-term success.

Your Responsibilities

  • Build mutually beneficial and valued customer relationships
  • Evaluating customer requirements and developing a solution to meet those requirements
  • Preparing, submitting and negotiating offers for customers
  • Be the customer advocate within the FLENDER organisation, taking responsibility for all customer activities ensuring a timely and positive outcome

Your Strengths

  • Proven experience of 3+ years business-to-business relationships within the wind, renewable or heavy industrial space
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on Mechanical drives is advantageous
  • Experienced in the tender process, writing/reviewing proposals & contract negotiation
  • Financial and business acumen 

Key Skills

  • In-depth understanding and experience within the wind or renewables industry (preferred).
  • Able to build rapport at different levels with a wide range of personality types
  • Positive engagement with other areas of the business within Australia and overseas
  • Proven client and account management skills
  • Ability to travel to site as required
