As a Business Development Associate in our ANZ Commercial team, you will be responsible for sourcing and onboarding Zip Consumer Merchants with the focus on growth for SMB AU Market.

Working with the ANZ Merchant Operations team, you will be responsible for driving the Zip' s SMB Business Development strategy by executing targeted outbound activity, leveraging existing Group Merchant opportunities and re-engaging incomplete Inbound Merchant applications. This role is crucial to increasing Zip's SMB AU Merchant footprint with a focus on building ZipMoney portfolio growth.

Interesting problems you'll get to solve

  • Identify, target and solicit new SMB AU business opportunities by utilising a mix of tools such as Zoominfo and targeted vertical strategies to build your pipeline.
  • Be the first point of contact for the onboarding strategic SMB merchants, while providing an end to end service alongside the Marketing, Product, Sales and Merchant operations teams.
  • Identify any opportunities to onboard groups affiliated to current Merchants
  • Support onboarding flows including but not limited to;
  • Contacting merchant dealers/franchisees to activate merchant network
  • Guiding through integration and implementation processes
  • Training Merchants around the Zip product proposition & best practices integrations.
  • Provide pre onboarding support to Merchants, including but not limited to:
  • Supporting merchants with all administrative tasks
  • Channeling merchant offers through to Zip marketing opportunities (e.g. deals page, social posts/app feed where relevant)
  • Supporting setup of extended IF promotions
  • Supporting Merchants with Best Practice to optimise BPI and POS placement
  • Cross selling Zip products
  • Leverage industry research and insights to provide impactful value to merchant's propositions
  • Execute on Zip's best practice Business Development Framework, ensure that cross-functional stakeholders are briefed and visibility of opportunity progression is being communicated to the wider business to allow for effective prioritisation
  • Implement Zip's SMB financial modelling and pricing on all new deals for mutually beneficial outcomes; whilst continuing to provide Competitor pricing feedback monitor market competitiveness.
  • Build presentations to deliver to key decision-making audiences
  • Work with integrations and the project management team for a white glove onboarding experience
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop sales strategy, pitching approach and GTM launch plans for new merchants

What you'll bring to the team

  • 2+ months experience in a Business Development or similar relevant experience, with demonstrated high levels of productivity and customer satisfaction
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and work closely with the wider ANZ teams - such as: Merchant Experience, Commercial and Marketing teams, Merchant Risk & Compliance teams, to ensure a smooth onboarding process and effective merchant support
  • Results orientated with a strong customer first mindset
  • Previous experience in FinTech, Financial Service or Payments will be highly desirable
  • A good understanding of Zip's products, customers, and merchant workflows and procedures
  • Solid understanding of the credit, payments, eCommerce and retail markets
  • Exceptional presentation, planning and time management skills
  • Ability to understand business needs, consistently meet expectations and respond promptly and professionally to business requests or inquiries, seeking guidance where appropriate
