About the role
Thiess is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Global Business Development Manager to lead our proprietary Software as a Service (SaaS) product, LAAMP. In this role, you will be instrumental in expanding our market presence and driving revenue growth on a global scale. As the Business Development Lead, you will play a crucial role in fostering strategic partnerships, navigating diverse global markets, and contributing to the success of the Thiess Institute.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in Business Development, a deep understanding of the technology and learning industries, and the ability to establish strategic partnerships.
Additionally, you will:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global Business Development strategy for the LAAMP product.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, with a focus on key regions and industries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor strategies for different markets and customer segments.
  • Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including educational institutions, corporations, and industry influencers.
  • Negotiate and finalise B2B partnership agreements that drive mutual value and contribute to the growth of the LAAMP product.
  • Drive the sales pipeline by identifying and qualifying leads, conducting product demonstrations, and closing deals.
About you
The ideal candidate for the Business Development Lead - LAAMP possesses a strong strategic planning background, demonstrating a proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive global Business Development strategies for Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other Software as a Service (SaaS) products.
With a rich history in partnership development, you have successfully established and managed strategic collaborations with various stakeholders, including educational institutions, corporations, content providers, and technology partners. Your adaptability and innovation shine through your ability to navigate a rapidly evolving industry and technological landscape, coupled with a proactive willingness to contribute creative ideas for product enhancements based on valuable market feedback.
Additionally, you have:
  • Bachelor-level degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA desirable).
  • Proficiency in data analysis to measure the effectiveness of Business Development strategies.
  • Strong sales skills with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in the SaaS field.
  • A large mining, high hazard and/or associated industries network.
