Solar Pumptec is a family run business based in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia established in 2017. We are an Australian distributer for an Italian company called Nastec and have joined forces to produce sustainable energy solutions. 

We pride ourselves on providing our customers with quality products for maximum impact and reliability.

We are going through an exciting growth phase and are looking for an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to join our Adelaide office.

About You:

To be successful with us, you must be a self motivated creative thinker with a strategic mindset. You’ll possess a deep understanding of Business Development and finding new growth opportunities. You’ll understand the forming of strategic partnerships to help provide the best possible solutions.

You should be enthusiastic, confident, and ready to achieve great results. The ability to self manage comes naturally to you with high levels of time management and attention to detail.  You have a true passion & proven track record in identifying leads, researching and developing them and moving them along the sales cycle.


You are an excellent communicator, collaborator, and problem-solver, with a strong customer focus and the willingness for continued growth in an innovative field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Lead the development and implementation of new strategies to enhance brand awareness and new customers, whilst maintaining our existing customers. 
  • Sales Management: Build and maintain customer relationships, hit or exceed revenue forecasts, understand the customer journey and ultimately meet customer needs.  
  • Meeting targets: Overseeing the Sales activity of a region to ensure that set targets are achieved and business grows remarkably. 
  • Product Research: Conducting market research to identify new product opportunities and trending consumer needs.
  • Understand our customers, their pains, frustrations and deepest desires better than they know themselves.
  • Lead Generation: Attracting new prospect customers, utilising effective marketing techniques to drive quality leads and conversions. 
  • Product Promotion: Launching new products in a prompt manner and collaborating with dealers to help promote our products at their local field days.
  • Continuous Improvement and innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new product lines, implementing innovative strategies to drive business growth.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years doing this work is desirable, with results and knowledge to prove it
  • Proven experience in the development of strategic plans, implementation and found results 
  • Strong knowledge of pump and/or the Irrigation industry
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Managing Director and work alongside a small team achieving a common goal together
  • High conversion rate 
  • Ability to develop relationships with prospective new customers and maintain an effective relationship with existing customers.
  • Strong project & time management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Required to work internally and externally. Developing plans with more travel in the off season, and working in the office with limited travel, quoting, technical advice and customer service in the busy season
