They are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to break into the civil space. As a Business Development Manager, you will spearhead their expansion efforts by leveraging your adeptness at closing deals and cultivating portfolios. Your role will be pivotal in driving business growth through strategic planning and networking acumen. You'll capitalize on opportunities across Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, employing strategic foresight to unearth and capitalize on new ventures, while nurturing existing pipelines for sustained growth.
More about the role:
- Develop and implement an effective, strategic and commercially viable regional sales plan that targets new clients.
- Proactively explore each and every opportunity, applying selling and negotiating skills to close sales contracts.
- Assist Regional and National Management with the preparation of tenders and proposals.
- Prepare, submit and follow up on quotations with new and existing clients.
- Qualification of leads in a timely but thorough manner to ensure time is spent focusing on new opportunities in line with business processes.
- Undertake thorough needs analysis and opportunity scoping in order to allow robust benefits analysis to be delivered and presented back to prospective clients.
More about you:
- Minimum 5 years in a BDM or Account Manager roles within the civil industry
- Are an effective cold-caller and proactive hunter of new business and sales opportunities, knowing how to be persistent and persuasive without being pushy.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills
- Ideally have formal training in sales and negotiations.
- Current Driver’s License.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with an ability to overcome objections and close contracts.
- Advanced computer skills – MS office suite and CRM software.
