​About the role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Improvement Manager to join our Operations and People team and play a pivotal role in supporting the Directorate to develop and implement innovative solutions, priority projects and initiatives to build organisational capability that ultimately improves the customer and employee experience.

This role is critical in advocating for a continuous improvement way of working, though education and application of Business Improvement tools within a project mindset.

The Business Improvement Manager requires good interpersonal and influencing skills, good problem-solving ability, and a high-level understanding of project management and governance structures and related legislation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Operations and People Officer, key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Lead business as usual improvement activities with strong stakeholder engagement strategies to actively understand the improvement outcomes required by the business, identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather information and insights on current business processes and procedures with the view of improving and streamlining them.
  • Manage the end-to-end partnership with SME's and managers in the Operations & People directorate.
  • Embed organisation capability in Business Improvement principles to ensure appropriate business process, workflow, and ways of working are mapped and benefits captured across all Business Improvement projects.
  • Lead and facilitate workshops with staff to understand and in partnership with the Process Design Leads produce end-to-end current state process and workflow maps at varying levels of detail whilst building the future state requirements.

About you and what you will bring

  • Demonstrated experience and success in project management, operations management, or business management with relevant tertiary qualifications and/or knowledge and experience.
  • Extensive, broad, and demonstrated experience in the application of the business/ process improvement methodology with demonstrated outcomes.
  • Strong leadership capability, evidenced in well-developed problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated effective organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines and manage competing priorities.
