About Early Learning Victoria
The Victorian Government is establishing 50 government-owned and operated, Early Learning and Childcare Centres, as part of the Best Start, Best Life reforms. These centres will offer childcare, Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten and, where applicable, Pre-Prep. The first four centres will open in 2025, with all 50 open by 2032. Early Learning Victoria is being set up as a new business unit within the Department of Education to establish and operate the centres. We are building a team of high performers who are strengths-based, compassionate, dedicated, have a good attention to detail and who adopt a continuous improvement mindset. We have a large work program ahead of us, and it will take genuine flexibility, adaptability and teamwork to achieve this ambitious reform agenda
About the Role
The Early Learning Victoria Business Management Team provides recruitment, payroll, administration and finance support to Early Learning and Childcare Centres (ELCC). As Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing and supporting your team with day-to-day operations. You will report to the Manager, Workforce and Recruitment. You will build and maintain relationships with ELCC staff, the department's central HR division other department functions/divisions
Your duties will include:
- Acting as a key point of contact between the centre-based staff and the Early Learning Victoria for staffing and business operations matters
- Lead a team that supports ELCCs with recruitment, HR, payroll, cash budgeting, and other business transactions.
- Ensure appropriate oversightand and quality control in relation to HR and finance policy and process
- Advise senior management about policy, process and system reform when required
- Lead the administration of the team's management portal and other system support interfaces
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience in human resources, relationship management and business systems
- Capacity in Business Management and HR policy, processes and IT systems. Knowledge of department systems (eduPay) is desirable, but not essential
- Outstanding computer skills including extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and an ability to troubleshoot technical difficulties
- An understanding of the early childhood sector, and particularly experience working in an early learning setting is desirable, but not essential
