Job description:

The role
As the Business Systems Officer in the Development unit at CBCity, you will report to the Team Leader Development Systems and liaise with other Leaders in the Planning department to review, coordinate and improve various Information Technology based systems within the department. You will be the module owner for Council's Pathway application system and improve the management of applications and their reporting to external authorities.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Consult, design and coordinate Business Systems to meet organisational requirements and objectives as they relate to the Planning department.
  • Review department processes and systems and work with leaders to facilitate change.
  • Analyse, design, develop and support desktop reporting solutions.
  • Administer and provide support and training for the ‘Pathway' Applications Module and Licencing module including e-Pathway.
  • Administer department support and input for an Electronic Documents System.
  • Prepare Managers Quarterly reporting.

You will have:

  • Certificate IV in administration or equivalent.
  • Current C Class drivers' licence.
  • Experience to plan and carry out special projects including coordinating and working in a team to achieve desired work objectives.
  • Experience in a wide range of software including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience with databases, including design, development, reporting, implementation and electronic document management systems.
  • Previous experience with Pathway Applications Module is highly desirable.
  • A good understanding of the Development Assessment and Environmental Compliance processes is desirable however not required.


The salary range for this opportunity starts at $77,578 (Grade F, Step 1) + 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
