About the Company
Cherry Tree Organics is a producer of certified organic beef & lamb. We are a family run business which produces, butchers and delivers organic meat to our customers throughout Melbourne and Victoria.
About the Role
In this position you will work in a busy Butcher Shop where you will have a range of responsibilities and tasks each day. Your main responsibilities will be:
(a) packing, weighing and sealing of meat and
(b) serving customers who come into our Butcher Shop.
Duties
- Sealing meat a vacuum sealing machine
- Weighing products and printing labels
- Using our internal system to fill customer's orders and enter delivery information
- Using our internal ordering system to generate invoices for customers
- Serving customers who visit the shop
- Answering the phone and responding to customer queries
- Assisting our butcher in making sausages
- End of day close of shop
- General cleaning
Skills & Experience
- Comfortable handling raw meat
- Comfortable working in an environment where you interact with customers
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
- A basic knowledge of beef, lamb, chicken & pork cuts is a bonus
- An interest in organic food and healthy eating a bonus
Further Information
- There is some flexibility available and some flexibility required with working hours.
- We are looking for someone who can commit to a minimum of 3-4 days per week
- As a number of hours of training will be invested in the successful applicant we are looking for someone who is looking for a long term position with Cherry Tree Organics
