Just imagine a future where households and businesses can generate their own energy and sell it back to the grid, ultimately connecting communities and empowering lives. Are you ready to play your part in an evolving industry?

Ausgrid is on an exciting transformation journey and now is the time to be a part of something big. We are proud to service Australia’s east coast, as a leading business in energy distribution, delivering a safe and reliable electricity supply to more than 1.8 million homes – that’s over four million Australians relying on us every day.

Our vision is simple; for our communities to have the power for a resilient, affordable net zero future.

We take pride in knowing that the work we collectively achieve today, will transform the world tomorrow. We value a culture of working and living safely, being customer focussed, commercially minded, collaborative, honest, accountable, and respectful. Our values are not just initiatives driven by leaders; they define the way we work.

Meet our team!
Join our dynamic Southern Region Team within the Safety, Delivery and Operations Group where safety, efficiency, and enjoyment go hand in hand. You'll spearhead the delivery of a substantial capital and maintenance program, while swiftly responding to breakdowns and emergencies across Sydney CBD, Eastern Suburbs, North Sydney, and Lower North Shore. With a diverse team of 50 skilled individuals across various trades, led by six collaborative Field Supervisors, we foster a culture of continual improvement and excellence. Dive into the intricacies of the underground electrical network in Australia's largest CBD while working in an environment where learning and growth are paramount. Join us and embark on a fulfilling journey where work is rewarding, and camaraderie thrives.

Your new role
The Cable Jointer Leading Hand plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, reliability, sustainability, and affordability of our network. You will oversee on-site activities, including safety protocols, permits, and coordination with other teams. Additionally, you will coordinate emergency restoration work, address customer complaints, mentor less experienced employees, and provide technical advice. Collaboration with planners and schedulers to allocate resources effectively and preparing job sites for upcoming work are also key aspects of the role. Embrace the excitement of day-to-day shift work, including one week of night shifts in a five-week roster, with ample opportunities for overtime.

Spark our interest!
Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values.

Energise us through your skills and qualifications in:
