AddressBundaberg Today, a leading news media business in Bundaberg, is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Cadet Journalist to join our team.
This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will receive:
- An entry level salary
- Deakin University based training
- On the job training in all aspects of journalism, including news gathering, reporting, and writing
Responsibilities:
- Assist with researching and writing articles for publication across our print and online platforms
- Attend press conferences, events, and interviews to gather news stories
- Photography to record news, current events, sports, and lifestyle stories
- Conduct interviews with a range of sources
- Work closely with our editorial team to pitch and develop story ideas
- Utilise social media platforms to engage with our audience and promote our content
- Adhere to journalistic ethics and standards
- Attend Deakin University based training (3 years)
Requirements:
- Successful completion of Year 12
- Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to learn and take direction
