About the Role
This is a full-time position requiring availability to work Wednesday to Sunday each week. You will need to be able to work between 6.30am to 2.30pm (on Wednesday & Thursday), split shifts 6.30am to 11.30am & 4.45pm to 8.30pm (on Friday & Saturday), and 6.30am to 2.30pm (on Sundays). Note that these are anticipated hours and may change slightly to suit business and staff needs.
Your key tasks include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing all day-to-day Café operations (you must have experience in & an understanding of all Café roles).
- Delivering and maintaining the utmost highest standard of customer service to our community.
- Lead by example, be active, and drive our Team to deliver an impeccable service & experience to our community.
- Uphold Merak GF's committment to quality and customer experience, whilst ensuring that all staff also act in accordance with those standards.
- Assist management in the training and development of our Team.
- Build morale and team spirit whilst promoting an excellent work environment by encouraging and valuing our amazing Team.
- Prepare and serve our delicious coffee, cold drinks (such as iced lattes & milkshakes) to the Merak GF standard.
- Prepare and serve our amazingly delicious house-made desserts and cabinet items.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to undertake all roles at the café as required.
About You
- You are hardworking, fostering a positive & enthusiastic attitude in all that you do - you lead by example.
- You have a solid understanding of the hospitality industry with proven experience as a supervisor working in a Café/Restaurant (minimum 1 year).
- Extensive barista experience is essential
- Strong experience supervising and directing a team of up to 10 staff members.
- Must be able to prioritise tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced café/restaurant environment.
- A thorough understanding of stock control/stocktake.
- Professional and self-motivated with a very strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the latest food & beverage trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Coeliac disease and allergens would be an advantage but not essential (training provided).
- A valid QLD RSA is essential or reliable transport to Redland Bay 4165.
- Current QLD driver licence.
- Have working rights in Australia.
