About The Role
Based at the Telegraph Station in Alice Springs, we are seeking a casual café worker and Tour Guide, in this dual role. Our guided tours immerse our visitors in the history of the Telegraph Station and the township, the lives of the early telegraphers and their families, as well as discussing the Stolen Generation history of the site in the Bungalow era of the 1930s. When you’re not on tour, you will work within our Train Station Café, making coffees and serving our boutique range of homemade fresh food.
About You
We are seeking vibrant and energetic individual with a strong background knowledge in coffee and the local area.
To be successful, we are looking for someone who:
- Must be available to work across a 7-day roster including weekends.
- Barista experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Food safety and hygiene knowledge
- Positive and enthusiastic demeanour
- Strong historical knowledge of the Alice Springs Telegraph Station Precinct
Key responsibilities will include:
- Receiving orders and attending to customer requests in a timely manner
- Making and serving coffees
- Operating the Point of Sale system
- General cleaning duties of the café area
- Conducting guided tours of the Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Precinct.
- Adhering to operating procedures and WHS requirements
