About the Position
Our Community Services team are currently seeking casual Canteen Assistants to support the newly refurbished Terry Tyzack café and Administration Building Canteen and Canteen Operations centre!
We have multiple opportunities available and will invite selected applicants to be considered for future roles as they appear.
Working as a Canteen Assistant you will provide excellent customer service, prepare sandwiches, use of the deep fryer will be required and ensure all food items are displayed in an attractive manner and make a great coffee. Canteen Assistant assists the canteen team to ensure that all food preparation areas are maintained and cleaned to an excellent hygiene standard, and that all customers are provided with appropriate food services as required.
About You
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.
- Previous Café barista experience is essential.
- Previous cash handling experience
- Previous customer service experience
- Food preparation skills including a good knowledge of kitchen hygiene including appropriate chemical use.
This casual position is a Level 3 (Catering) Inside Workforce Agreement with an hourly rate of $30.80 inclusive of 25% casual loading.

To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a:
- A copy of Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia.
