Daily you'll orchestrate global freight operations, tackle challenges head-on across multiple countries, and play a vital role in supply chain organisation.
- Full time permanent role
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensuring freight arrives at the final destination within the required timeframes;
- Handle day-to-day operations of project logistics via all modes of transport
- Analyse freight options, identify suitable services and logistical solutions
- Maintain relationships with customers, operational staff, carriers, sub-contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Act as a point of contact for partners, and overseas offices for operations related issues
- Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to procure competitive rates/terms
- Prepare RFI/RFQ and competitive quotes for Sea, and Domestic Road/Air shipments
- Assist commercial team with tenders and proposals
- Preparation of relevant documentation and booking consignments with appropriate airlines/shipping lines/co-loaders.
- Organise goods to be packed in containers and transported to either port/wharf or airports/trucking yards
- Pre-alert customers and agents of freights whereabouts and POD'S as required;
- Ensure project compliance, safety requirements, efficient administration and reporting
- Process orders, monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
- Update milestones ensuring KPIs are met at all times
What you bring:
- International Freight Forwarding Qualification (Highly regarded)
- Good understanding of INCOTERMS
- Hands on experience in the Freight Forwarding Sector (Sea, Air, Land)
- Strong professional communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to built strong relationships and negotiate well
- Result oriented and high attention to processing details
- Driven to achieve success by seizing opportunities and identifying business opportunities
