Job Description

The City of Albany’s Cape Riche Reserve is looking for a pair of experienced and customer focused individuals to take up the roles of live in Cape Riche Caretakers.


Reporting to the Natural Reserves Supervisor, this role will see you responsible for, but not limited to:



  • Greeting visitors to the site and provide information on rules and Emergency Procedures

  • Co-ordinating and controlling the Camping activities at Cape Riche Reserve within the rules of the park as set out by the City of Albany;

  • Maintaining the natural and built environment within the Cape Riche Reserve in a clean, tidy and orderly manner;

  • Maintaining hygienic toilet facilities at Cape Riche;



  • Keep a log of overnight visitors and their information as guided by the City; and

  • Providing records to the City of Albany of fees collected on a regular basis.


Please note: The Caretakers are required to live onsite; accommodation is provided. Own vehicle to be used and minimum requirements apply. Fuel allowance available.




Desired Skills and Experience

The successful duo will possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, along with the ability to plan and organise their own work schedules. The capability to undertake minor maintenance is essential for this role.


Candidates will also need to have previous experience in a caretaker role and knowledge of general camping regulations/operations, A proven history with working with the general public and handling difficult customers, cash handling and an understanding of effective cleaning processes. Knowledge of the Cape Riche Reserve area is highly desirable.
