About the Role:
The Career Medical Officer (CMO) is primarily responsible for the proactive management of clinical medical supervision and care of all Waratah Private Hospital patients, under the scope of responsibility to ensure alignment with Healthe Care's vision statement and corporate direction.
The CMO will act in accordance with the By-Laws, policies and procedures of the hospital and Healthe Care, National Standards, and relevant current legislation direction to provide medical cover in conjunction with the various specialties and Visiting Medical Officers (VMO).
The CMO position is responsible for working in collaboration with all Waratah Private Clinicians to provide medical expertise and undertake procedures as requested by the relevant VMO. They will provide direction to the staff working in the clinical areas to ensure an efficient and effective delivery of services after consultation with the patients VMO.
The CMO will take an active role in Workplace Health and Safety and Quality Improvement activities to ensure a safe work environment, injury prevention and the achievement of National Standard accreditation.

Essential Criteria:
- Registered Medical Practitioner with AHPRA Registration
- Degree in Medicine from a recognised tertiary institution
- Current Medical indemnity insurance to treat patients within a private health care facility.
- Current Advanced Life Support certification (ALS)
- Minimum 2 years Post Graduate experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with appropriate independence, commensurate with the level of a CMO, within a clinical environment.
- Exceptional collaborative Interpersonal, leadership and well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient centered care.
- Demonstrated clinical and Procedural experience.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with computerised reporting systems
- Commitment Professional Development and to a structured learning program for all staff
- Membership of relevant professional organisation
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous Experience in an acute care private Hospital facility
- Previous experience in Mental Health
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
