Carer Consultant
Part Time
The Carer Consultant role is part of the Carer Lived Experience team and together with the team actively amplifies the carer Le voice across the service in order to increase a better understanding of the specific support and educational needs for carers. Providing the systemic support withion the team is a critical part of the role.
Your new role:
- The Carer Consultant works across the Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services - RMH to build service collaboration and inclusion of families and carers in program development to achieve better outcomes in service delivery.
- The role is 3 days per week and will work across the service.
- Participate in carer consultation processes to assist the service managers and senior clinical staff to contribute to the development of policy and programs that are sensitive to carers' needs.
The Carer Lived Experience aims to support the recognition, inclusion, participations and needs of carers, families and supporters of the service. The team does this by supporting carers/families at an individual level through Carer Peer Support, advocacy and carer groups, and on a broader level in ensuring that the carer lived experience perspective is included at all levels of service development.
About you:
- Utilise your significant carer lived experience supporting an adult accessing public mental health services to contribute towars service developments and carer participation across the service.
- Think innovatively and work well within a team
- Draw on the Carer Lived Experience work, underpinning frameworks, such as the Mental Health Act, Trianlge of care, Royal Commission Recommendations
- Passion and resilience to progress the work of the Carer Lived Experience Team
