Duties- Undertake case management of a client group through assessing, investigating, reviewing, negotiating and supporting the clients through their various driver licensing needs and assisting them to navigate the licensing system with a view to them entering and remaining within the licensing system as compliant and safe drivers.
- Make administrative decisions which are evidence-based and in line with legislative requirements in relation to a client’s eligibility or ineligibility across a range of licensing activities.
- Provide support and expert advice to clients in all matters of driver licensing including but not limited to their: eligibility to hold a drivers licence; eligibility to return to driving; medical fitness to drive; conditions to be applied to drivers licence; conditions for returning drivers or recidivist driving behaviours; fit and proper to hold public passenger ancillary certificates; and the Mandatory Alcohol Interlock Program (MAIP).
- Work as part of a case management team and undertake a range of duties as an ‘expert’ in a specific area and ensure all internet information, processes, practices and reports relative to that specific area are reviewed, updated and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Work within a regulatory environment and understand and apply the requirements of the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 and Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2010 and a range of other relevant legislation to all administrative decisions and case management approaches.
- Prepare complex written documents, including court requests, staff information bulletins, communication/internet information, statements of reasons, and correspondence to clients which are clear, concise and targeted to the audience.
- Access and utilise the Motor Registry System (MRS) to interrogate information and update client details and the HPE Records Management System to record and manage workflows and client case management actions.
- Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including Driving Assessors, Service Tasmania, Tasmania Police, health professionals, community groups, Courts and Prosecutions and the general public.
- Provide assistance and support to develop and implement new policies and procedures which support the case management model and improved client outcomes in relation to driver licensing activities.
