Kinship placements in out-of-home care serve as the primary and preferred option when a young person cannot reside with their parents. This field is experiencing rapid growth, making it an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
Your role:
- A rounded approach engaging schools, families and carers in support and case management.
- Have a passion for working with children and young people impacted by trauma who reside in out of home care
- Have creative thinking and problem-solving skills to engage those who might be resistant to supports
- Committed to achieving positive outcomes for carers, young people and their families
- Work collaboratively with their team and team leader
- Continuously liaise with DFFH Child Protection
The skills we want you to use day to day:
- The agility and skill to engage with complex individuals
- Using creative thinking and skill to engage carers, families and children
- A good knowledge of and a trauma informed approach
- Strong administrative skills and ability to meet timelines
- Sophisticated understanding of the legislative, policy and practice environment of Out of Home Care and a passion for learning.
- Strong engagement, communication, advocacy and conflict resolution skills
- Strong written communication
- Strong networking and stakeholder engagement to promote the Best Interests of children
- Demonstrated experience in case management.
What you need to know:
- A salary at SCHCADS level 5 which equates to around $94,000 plus super.
- Full time hours. Fixed term to June 30th 2025 (highly likely the contract will be extended or become ongoing)
- Flexible through the increments up to 5.3 (dependent upon experience).
- Based at our fantastically located office in Box Hill.
- Office based with some flex to work from home but responsive to change.
