About the school
Exciting opportunity to help shape the culture and learning experience in a new special assistance school!
Redcliffe Youth Space's Special Assistance School in Moreton Bay City is committed to providing project based and person centred/differentiated education to marginalised, at-risk and vulnerable young people (grade 7-10). Our school community was formed in order to respond to students who experience complex and severe psychosocial, financial, systemic and clinical barriers that likely stem from current and historical trauma. These factors are likely to severely negatively impact school engagement. The Redcliffe Area Youth Space understands that educational success usually requires collaboration with families - they need to be partners in the learning journey. As such, the school model extends support to families as well as students.
It takes a village to raise a child. Are you passionate about supporting young people? Are you unwavering in pursuit of meaningful outcomes and change for your clients? Are you comfortable working with poverty and trauma? We are hoping to meet student-centred, hard working and innovative professionals from a variety of relevant disciplines to join an organisation delivering meaningful outcomes with young people aged 11-16 who are often vulnerable, disengaged and have experienced or are experiencing significant trauma and poverty. Applicants must demonstrate a willingness to proactively engage disengaged young people with a range of complex psychosocial issues and embed themselves in the local community.
Applicants must demonstrate a willingness to proactively engage disengaged students with a view to explore learning opportunities out of poverty and into purpose. A keen belief in social justice is a must!
Are you prepared to make a difference? If you have a current driver's license, are eligible to work in Australia and have a long term commitment and desire to instil meaningful change, we want to hear from you! You might just be the right person that our young people and our community need.
