A Few Specifics
- Plan and implement information sessions and workshops for parents and their children so as to improve and enhance their overall personal and social development, and their health and well-being.
- Deliver therapeutic services to parents including information and advice, capacity building, crisis intervention and referral opportunities for families and children.
- Provide culturally appropriate services that meet the needs of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, and CALD families and children.
- Contribute to the evaluation of the service through feeding back communications, observations and ideas.
- Liase with staff, clients and external agencies to provide integrated service responses.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary degree, Diploma in Community Services, Counselling, Youth Work or other related discipline
- Clinical and counselling experience in an adult justice reintegration support setting
- Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families and children in contact with the justice system, or related field.
- Ability to attend meetings and make presentations on behalf of the agency.
- Ability to network, negotiate and liaise with external agencies particularly with government agencies responsible for child protection and out of home care placements.
- Ability to work within a team.
