The position
If you're passionate about helping people, love driving and enjoy autonomy, this is an exciting opportunity to support vulnerable people on the South Coast in Batemans Bay and surrounding areas. Working two consecutive days per week you will provide case work support to people referred by local Vinnies conferences. The position is a hybrid position with a mobile phone and laptop provided, allowing you to be flexible and travel within the area as required to meet the needs of the people you're working with.
The successful applicant will play a key role in the delivery of case support to companions with complex needs. You will assist in building individual capacity to enable people to live an ordinary life, helping them to make optimum choices, enhancing their living skills and confidence, and gaining access to mainstream services.
Please note this is a Fixed Term contract for 12 months.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to communicate with people at all levels in a manner that conveys genuine concern for the wellbeing of the individual. You will have a high-level understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and disadvantage.
You will have well developed communications skills along with a proactive, collaborative mindset and a demonstrated resilience and capacity to adapt to change and sometimes challenging environments.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Community Services with demonstrated previous experience in a related role and/or have extensive proven commensurate experience in a similar position within a complex work environment. A current driver’s licence and First Aid certifications will be required.
